Haunted House

In this old empty house
The floorboards creak and groan
The lights no longer flicker
And some of the locks on the doors
No longer work
Memories, though, are imprinted
On the walls like shadows
And the mirrors hold fast onto faces
Long since past;
The ones worth remembering
Only a few hints of ghostly lovers
From a life once had
But when the doors of my arms open for you,
I hope you won’t be scared away
The cobwebs can be cleaned, the lights replaced
And my love can love again
If only given the chance
