A Little Cold

ice heart

My heart was held in her cold hands

It was shivering from the frost

All I thought it needed was love

Instead it got frostbite

Turning bluer and bluer by the second

She only stared at it, a little confused

So I told her to hold it closer, warm it

But it only got surrounded in ice

I could tell that wasn’t her intentions

But the cold was spreading everywhere

My lips were turning blue and she was frantic

She shoved the muscle back into my hands

But it was too late, her hoarfrost took hold

And even my hair was turning blue

The best part was, though,

When I tried to hand it back

She declined, explaining it was just too cold
